Johanna and Corey were married earlier in April at The Log Cabin in Holyoke, MA.   We had never traveled to Holyoke, MA before, and were pleasantly taken back by the magnificent views of the Berkshires that The Log Cabin had to offer!  Just spectacular!

Johanna and Corey’s photographer, Matthew Jason of Matthew Jason Photography out of Boston, MA, was kind enough to share some of his photographs with us.  We normally have to wait a LONG time to get the pro shots, so I am thankful not only for Matthew’s amazing pics of the flowers, but very impressed by his timeliness!

Check out the fantastic views!! Oh yes, and please don't forget to check out the decor as well!! Lavender carnation pomanders and tulle adorn the aisle while the archway is decorated with tulle and flanked by floral arrangements of white hydrangea, lavender stock, lavender larkspur, lavender roses, and green hypericum.

The bridal party shows off their bouquets. The bride's bouquet featured garden roses and spray roses in shades of ivory and lavender with green hypericum. Her bridesmaids carried green hydrangea with ivory and lavender roses and ivory hypericum.

I recently had the great pleasure of working with some amazing vendors recreating a wedding for a photo shoot at the newly opened La Bella Vista (formerly The Villa Rosa at the Ponte Club), in Waterbury, CT.

I can’t wait to see the professional shots created by Alisa Dinneen, but until then, here are some pics I took while we were setting up:

The day began with photos of the beautiful wedding couple. The bride was outfitted in a spectacular dress provided by The Wedding Embassy in Watertown, CT

We did a beautiful room shot featuring lavenders, purples and whites.  The colorscheme looked amazing in the elegant ballroom.  We decided to do a combination of low centerpieces and high centerpieces to give the room some visual interest and movement.  Here are pictures of the two centerpieces:

Hot, hot, hot trends...navy tablecloths and submerged orchids dominate the wedding scene! This table setting paired the two trends together for a WOW factor!

The star of the day was probably this table setting. A fantastic marriage of textures and colors. Lisa at Chair Affair paired a moss green tablecloth with orange chair sashes and eggplant napkins to perfectly complement the floral arrangement that featured manzanita branches, orange ranunculus and purple and yellow orchids.

I would be remiss if I did not mention how FABULOUS the food was!! We sampled many of the items on the menu, and I can't pick a favorite...DELISH!!!

Alan and Dan got married this past weekend at the Heritage Hotel in Southbury, CT.  I was excited to see this wedding come together from the time I met with Alan.  The colors and vision for what Alan wanted for his and Dan’s wedding day were outstanding!

Alan wanted to create an English Manor spring garden feel.  We focused on greens, purples and blues married with silver accents.  Bouts for the men (sorry, I forgot to take pics….) featured green roses for the grooms and scillia and green berries for the rest of the men.  The ceremony featured fantastic blue/purple hydrangeas and the reception featured a combination of low and high centerpieces featuring delphinium, roses, sweet peas, anemones and ivy.

While I didn't take pictures of these beauties at the ceremony, I did take a pictures of them at the nursery where I picked them up. Nature at it's finest...

While I generally reserve this blog for posts about wedding flowers, I thought I’d post some pictures of the everyday work we do here at Flore.

Spring is an especially favorite time of year for flowers, and I find that the coming of spring reminds us that winter is ending and warm weather and the beautiful flowers and scents it brings is not far behind.  We seem to get lots of orders from people requesting “spring flowers” more than any other time of year!

Here are some pictures of the spring flowers we have created this past week to help our customers bring a little springtime color into their friends and loved ones lives:

Nothing speaks spring to me like lilac. This creation features peonies, lilac, dusty miller, roses and cymbidium orchids.

Spring, Winvian, Blue and yellow flowers..these are a few of my favorite things!!  We recently had the distinct pleasure of providing flowers for an  Awards Dinner held at the enchanting Winvian resort in Morris, CT.

A match made in heaven for me—using the blue and yellow flowers and placing them in the Winvian setting.  I wish my photo taking abilities could have captured the amazing marriage….

Stumbled upon some pictures we took back in December of an elegant winter wedding we had the pleasure of providing the flowers for.   Emily selected a beautiful winter’s theme featuring royal blues, whites, silvers and gold.  Lots of candlelight provided a warm glow to an otherwise cold winter’s day:

Reception featured some tall centerpieces as well as some low centerpieces.

What a fantastic day for vendors and brides-to-be alike at the Southbury Bridal Show held at the Heritage Hotel on Sunday, March 25.  Excitement was definitely in the air as brides made the rounds and visited all the amazing vendors who came to showcase their work.   Met some new fellow vendors, caught up with some old vendor friends, and met plenty of wedding-planning happy brides.

For our table, we decided to create a mini vignette of the trends we see as most popular this wedding season.  We featured mason jar centerpieces, mercury glass, spheres, manzanita branches, and submerged flowers with floating candles.  The mason jars and submerged flowers were the big hits, for sure.
